There's an article today (9 Oct 2023) on the Aviation Week website about the Serious Threat of GPS Spoofing. According to the article, "the name of this new menace is “GPS Spoofing”, which is different from GPS jamming." Sounds serious! Who knew?!
I'm being a little snarky about this because this is already the sixth anniversary of the release of my "GPS Anti Spoof" apps, which can detect GPS spoofing with simple sextant sights and no paperwork. Carrying a sextant is probably not a reasonable solution in commercial aircraft, the subject of the article, but solutions do exist. It sounds as if the author has no idea how long people have been working on this threat.
