As a student myself - I believe it very easily. No matter I practice almost every weekend - once in a while I mis-read the arc very badly: mostly near 5° marks. I tend to count the scale in wrong direction (instead of, say, x6° I read it as x4°).
I'd like to see his records of those two problematic sights.
