The 1984 release of the MacIntosh, of course!
Chiat Day of course was the PR form for the Mac, and Jay Chiat in a very grand gesture, told everyone in the office that the company was going to run exclusively on Macs.
With classic flourish, Jay arranged for a truck to pull up in front of their Santa Monica office, and a crew dragged out every single IBM selectric typewriter in the office and tossed them in.
Everyne was then issued a Mac in place of the typewriters.
You can guess how well that went... ;-)
