I have a copy. Brilliant. I think it relates to Kelly method first published 1790s!
This pre-dates LOP plots I think. (Well at least Sumner and Hilaire by 60+ years?) So was mainly aimed at lunar clearance. I’m going to give it a go. Uses a wonderful thing called a"line of chords rule" which I had never heard of but which I think goes back to Euclid's time? Must get me one of those. Any idea if/how one could also adapt this method for LOPs, to plot 2 circles of equal altitude to get a fix on flat plotting sheet? Haven't yet got my mind around that.
