Thanks Frank. I’m now convinced your three navigators are German, so it might whittle down sextant identification. The chap on the right appears to have this cap badge http://www.hermann-historica.de/auktion/hhm63.pl?f=NR_LOT&c=2566&t=temartic_A_D&db=kat63_a.txt . The one in the middle appears to have this cap badge http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=327013&page=2 eighth photo down, and the chap on the left has this http://s400910952.websitehome.co.uk/germancolonialuniforms/militaria/navaluniforms.htm cap. It’s remarkable how similar they are to RN Uniform. Did I read somewhere that the Kaiser started off as a Royal Navyophile? With WW1 film in such short supply, it doesn’t necessarily mean the clip was from Emden or even von Spee’s Squadron. It might have been spliced in from anywhere. How often do you see the same Spitfire shooting down the same Messerschmitt, or vice versa, in WW2 documentaries? Dave
