Saw another green flash today from here in Moorpark California, about 20 miles from the sea and about 500 feet above sea level.

Green flash!

Following up on my extinction experiment, (see previous post) I decided to watch the sun set from my town. According to my calculations, any body with a declination between about 14° and 16.5° south will set in the gap that I can see to the sea, 250° to 253° true. I calculated that the sun would be setting in this gap from February 2nd through February 12th. On the 2nd I was out there and watched the sun dip into the sea and then I saw the green flash. The color was a little bit yellower than the standard traffic light green and it only lasted about one or two seconds. Yesterday it was cloudy but I was out there again today and saw another green flash! I had only seen one green flash before and that was in the South Pacific, and now, in one week, two! I'll have to try again tomorrow.
