I mentioned Wikipedia's "Low N" problem in another message a few minutes ago. I would add that even "traditional media" articles can suffer from low quality due to "Low N" but in that case the number is smaller ...critical N at 2 to 5 for curated articles instead of 10 to 100 for open-source, like Wikipedia, and the "N" that counts is more usually the number of editors, reviewers, fact-checkers, and so on. There's an encyclopedic article on the Sky & Telescope website this week that has symptoms of the disease. How many problems do we see in this article about the constellation Grus? [hint: how far apart are δ¹ and δ² Gruis? ...but don't stop there!]
