I am sure that if 214 had been computed by a new-fangled device called a digital computer that fact would have been proudly mentioned in the preface. Instead I can infer from the preface that it was computed by traditional computers maybe assisted by tabulating machines.
However......my copy of 214 was published in 1940. The existance of digital compuiters would have been top secret.
