If you don't mind bearing with me, as a beginner, here is my understanding:
-Dec used is |Dec|, since cos(x) = cos(-x)
-LHA (copy/pasted from earlier thread).
If( LHA > 180º ) |t| = 360º-LHA
If( |t| > 90º ) |t| = 180º-|t|
But I am still unclear on how to interpret the the result.
The diagram below - is it simply a way to convert the resultant Z based on direct observation of the star? A star in northwest quadrant produces Z = 360-Z, for example?
