In the "Lockdown madness" thread Michael used the Doniol method. This method does can use the DR position so I decided to reduce my "lockdown in the park" sight with Doniol using the Rivendell position. I remembered that over the years there had been lengthy discussions about Doniol. I searched the group and found Greg's Ocean Navigator article.
Greg's article on hav-Doniol in "Ocean Navigator"
To summarise the Doniol method in Bowditch is a cos/haversine method. Greg Rudzinski and Hanno Ix modified the formula to create an all haversine method.
In the ON article is an azimuth graph. The graph uses the parameter "C" but I cannot find a definition of this term. Explanation please?
