The original 1955 Doniol method uses a natural cosine term and haversines. The Hav Doniol method uses only natural haversines.
Thanks. I have now reduced a sight using the hav-doniol method. In fact I have learned two methods because the 1955 doniol and hav doniol methods differ only by hav, sin and cos.
I was daunted by multiplying two five digit numbers longhand. Then I noticed that in your ocean navigator example you used only four digits and all of a sudden I was able to do the long multiplication. Are fouir digits sufficient?
