A neighbor of mine has a sextant left by his wife's father. The arc is stamped "Stanley London." Certificate says it is # 7521, dated September 1918. Since its frame, scope, and mirrors are very like the Heath Hezzanith in the front of Bill Morris' book, I think that's what it is, and was made for Stanley London Co. He's mainly interested to verify its make and any further details of its provenance. The optics look good, the shades unclouded, and the arm works smoothly through its full range.
In case anyone is interested in a project, there is also a disassembled chronometer; its parts in a sealed envelope.

I'm sending him the link to a Hezzanith Bill restored, though that one has a different frame.
