Sure. That's often called scope "collimation". It's important, especially on older sextants, that the line of sight should be adjusted to be parallel to the frame of the instrument. I'm a little under the weather this weekend, and I hope someone else will reply to you on the topic. Could I suggest that you post a couple of photos of the scope and the attachment point. Also, if you could tell the group what you know about the process already, that would help. :)
