Chris,
I am guessing you have a 3X monocular which should have a focusing eyepiece, and a 6X inverting scope which may focus by pushing/pulling. Either way, they may need careful disassembly and cleaning. It would help if you share some pictures (Add Images button) of the sextant and scopes.
