Hi Murray,
I am very grateful for your message and attachments, I certainly have learned a lot about this fine old sextant and its background! By the way, the arc does have the same engraving as you mentioned - “Heath & Co New Eltham London S.E.9.”
In the future, it would be good to do a thorough cleaning & restoration on the sextant, box and accessories, but for now I will be taking more sights with it and developing practice training material for local workshops.
I first learned celestial navigation while serving as a reserve officer here in the Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard, and was fortunate to have several dedicated, knowledgable instructors to share the craft with me.
