I’m afraid all I did for my plywood sextant was buy a nice looking mirror tile and cut two squares out of the centre, one for the index and one for the horizon mirror. I masked off half of the horizon mirror and dropped it into ferric chloride solution and washed off once the backing had disolved. Then I went into a welding supplier and tried a few pieces of shade until I got one that looked about right, which I cut into three squares. Only a toy really, but the results were quite respectable. I should have taken it to Littlehampton with me to compare with the Mates against a real horizon. You can always blame the AH working inland. DaveP
