Santa delivered a sextant. Hooray !
Ex RN, very smooth, almost complete as far as I can see, and great condition, but I have a problem in that Galilean scope eyepiece drawtube has no eyepiece lens. My checking shows Galilean objective focal length about 110mm, and back of the envelope arithmetic would show this needs an eye lens about -30mm for a final roughly 4x power scope which this should be.
Is anyone able to check similar scopes/eyepieces to help.
Does any one know where a suitable eyepiece, preferably mounted and threaded, might be found/bought. Alternatively where a suitable lens might be had to let me make the new eyepiece.
