Very interesting! I am an AH user because I do not have easy access to an E - N - W horizon. I do not own a tribach and assumed that one would be outside my price range. Out of interest I did some googling and much to my surprisse discovered that they are affordable. In fact for about what I paid for Burton's Tables I could own one. But I do not own a theodolite tripod........
It seems to me there are several options - (a) search online for a second hand theodolite tripod (b) buy a camera tripod or (c) rest the tribach on the picnic table.
Would either b or c be feasible?
I should point out that with my sextant my sights are usually accurate to about 0.5'. I would like to set up this hybrid AH not for arc second accuracy but so that I could take star an moon sights. Maybe even venus and mars.
