Calculating practice and using the sextant is indeed necessery once a month.
If I have not used the sextant for two months, the first sights are not very precise.
Therefore if possible I take 5 sights and average them with the fit-slope method.
Gives one more certain feeling than then approch of more "experienced" navigators.
Who say I take one sight and feel if it is oke ore not. Well after 47 years of CelNav
I never am sure, it is oke, or not.
So go on practicing to keep the skill alive.
I attached the last Main table with the Diff on 31 dec back on -8 value.
