Fascinating David! (I "suspect" that the "Aged 64" may have "simply" meant that Bligh was "into" his 64th year (2 months and 28 days worth (excluding end-date (if my on-line date calculator can be trusted))). (I've never really understood birthday calculations. (We only have one actual birthday, afterall. 😉))
In any event, it might be interesting to explore the convention in early 19th century England for "computing" and memoralizing "age in year of death" of famous and not so famous personages.
