Did the Sir Earnest Shackleton boat ( replica James Caird ) on display in Cambridge from 1993 have a builder's plate on it?
I recall seeing such a boat being fitted out at a South Shields boat builder, MacNulty's, ( now defunct ), early in the 90s.
But the boat may have been another of the long string of replicas ...
Perhaps I'll take a hard look at the boat itself it next time in Cambridge ... ( daughter 1 lives there ).
Also I see that Trevor Potts, the leader of the first replica voyage, has a web site ( trevorpotts.com ) advertising a £15 documentary DVD of that 1993 voyage.
What a set of ventures ......
