Navlisters following the tread on James Cook's activities in the Burgeo Islands with respect to the eclipse events of 05Apr1766 may find the attached entry in a 1767 issue of the Royal Society's Philosophical Transaction of some interest.
Fast-forward 258 years to the upcoming 2024 eclipse, it seems that Burgeo's Eclipse Island will once again witness a solar eclipse. Here's a report from Space.com on Eclipse Island:

Embedded in the Space.com report is a 4-min flyover of the NA path of the eclipse (credited to Michael Zeiler). Burgeo comes into view on the path's right side from 3:08 to about 3:20.
Cheers,
Jim.
