Those writers are obviously lazy and use a spell checker rather than the good old-fashioned MK1 eyeball and brain. Two words that make me very grumpy are "past" and "passed" as in "I walked passed the shop". It was only a few ago that I felt compelled to correct someone (not on this forum).
