It would be helpful if you post the example you are working, and what step is not clear.
FYI, you can download these tables from

(select "publications" from their menu displayed on the left side, and then Sight Reduction Tables for Marine Navigation)
You can also find Vols 2 and 3 of the Air Sight Reduction Tables. Vol 1 of the Air Sight Reduction Tables is date dependent, and you can find them at
http://astro.ukho.gov.uk/nao/publicat/ukaa_usage.html
Of course, these days people probably use an app (if they do celestial at all).
