In an article about Manjiro by Prof. Tetsuo Kawasumi, Keio University (http://www.manjiro.org/manjiro.html), we read:
'Manjiro [...] translated the 20-volume "U.S. Navigation Science" he'd brought with him [from the U.S. to Japan] [...].'
What publication(s) could the author possibly have in mind? Could this be bad wording to mean something like "his 20 volume library on the subject of navigation in the US"? Or did a translation of Bowditch appear in 20 volumes? Does anyone know of a reliable source in a western language that tells us what Manjiro really published?
