Well, it looked brand new to me. I didn't reallize they were putting the new props on old birds. I have Kollsman periscopics, MA-1, MA-2, A-10 and A-7. I like the A-7 the most for inflight use, it is the lightest and the eyepiece can be swiveled so that you can look off to the side easily without turning your head, I have taken many sights with it from my plane and also on three atlantic crossings from a passenger seat on an airliner. Second to it is the MA-2, it is heavier but the averager is great.
