I have recently acquired a U.S. Navy MK IX Aircraft Compass made by Kollsman Precision Aircraft Instruments. As it is in dire need of cleaning and repair, I have been trying to find out any information that I can about it.
The information I am looking for specifically is:
1. What is the fluid that the compass indicator floats in? It was empty when acquired and I would like to refill it.
2. What is the voltage for the illumination? I would like to function test the lamp and perhaps set it up as a static display.
Thanks in advance for any assistance on this as it is much appreciated!
