i have a Kollsman sextant but i can't locate a mount. do you have any idea where i might find one

Finding the mount is the hardest bit. You might try:
a. Finding a technician who services an aircraft about to be retired
b. Airfield fire practice hulks
c. Aircraft graveyards
d. Air museums (it’s not unknown for mountings to be removed and the hole plugged, because the mountings begin to leak eventually). Then the mounting’s hidden in a cupboard.
e. European ones (3v out – not sure if the in is 3 or 24v) sometimes crop up in European military surplus sites e.g. https://tdm-electronics.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=28&Itemid=139&lang=en
f. Finally, there’s eBay. Set up a standing search.
There’re also a few non electrical mountings around, which you could use. The ball joint’s the same; you just need to supply your own electrics. Three small 9v batteries taped together will work.
I’m not sure of your domestic supply, but in the UK, 240V, I find this 24V supply very good https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/24v-5A-Power-supply-adaptor/222688259420?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 . DaveP
