They come up occasionally on eBay and similar sites. There were probably far fewer mountings made than sextants, so they’re not as common. You just must be patient and put it on your watch list. Expect to pay at least as much for a mounting as for a sextant. There are 28V mountings for American Kollsmans and a few 12V ones for European Kollsmans. Sextants will also sit quite nicely on a window ledge chocked up with suitable numbers of playing cards stacked all around. Slide single cards in and out to get a perfect level. DaveP
