I too long for a mount for my bubble sextants. I've been considering 'building' one in SolidWorks, sending the files off to an online CNC job shop (along with $$$) and wait for that artifact of a 21st century replicator to show up at my door.
While I was nowhere as cloistered as a BUFF Nav, the vast majority my shots aboard TACAMO EC-130G/Q birds were precomputed. As described, no other non-pilotage navigable view was available from the flight deck. While, it was possible to search and find the sun, even the moon, sans precomutation that was a bass-ack-wards use of the sextant.
