I've heard it as metric and ones that have operated rovers on Mars.
Try an 8- 32 because there are two kinds of countries, ones that use the metric system, and ones that have been to the moon. I just mounted my well-used mount from Quonset on a 1/4" aluminum plate and mine was 8-32 threads.
