I recently got an email with some new items from Land and Sea Collection. Spencer Browning & Rust, Double Frame Sextant/Quintant https://landandseacollection.com/id1452.html Pocket or Box Miniature Sextant, by Cary of London https://landandseacollection.com/id1448.html Tulip Pattern Mid 19th Century Brass Sextant https://landandseacollection.com/id1449.html C Plath Navistar Classic Sextant https://landandseacollection.com/id1438.html They don't show the price. You have to ask. An inquiry automatically puts you on their mailing list. It's not bad — an email every few months with a sample of their latest items. I've never done business with this company, but a few years ago I came close. They were selling a Husun sextant, formerly the property of P.V.H. Weems, for $1400. I still have second thoughts about letting that one get away. https://landandseacollection.com/id1186.html Remember the Time-Life series of books? When I was a kid I had a bunch of them, including "Ships". That's how I got interested in celestial navigation. Maybe someday I'll own a Husun 3-ring like the picture in the book. -- Paul Hirose sofajpl.com
