Here's the image that Alan is referring to (click or tap to see it full-size):
There is a stunning UFO-like object (or maybe it's a space jellyfish) about three-quarters of the way across the upper image. Weird, right?! Ah, but you notice there is other "artwork" in the sky in this image. It's a screen capture from "Stellarium" or some similar product in which constellation art has been activated. And that strange shape is overlaid on a small, faint constellation between Aquila and Sagittarius called Scutum. Scutum is a warrior's shield. Neither UFO nor space jellyfish, this is an artist's impression of a shield. See it now?
