I would not bet on it. There is so much pseudo-science out there, particularly in the hands of journalists.
Since I don't eat lemurs, I am not too worried about my own extinction on account of theirs. And whether I watched meridian transit today at 13:55, as I did, or at 14:12, as Andrés Ruiz might have done, or at 16:00, what difference does it make??
