There are several items that could be either plastic or 'metallic'. Sextant, shaving mirror, water container, army rations case, oil/gasoline can, transistor radio, and shark repellant can. Hang all the metallic ones on the ocean fishing kit pole as a radar reflector. If the 'rubber life craft' had a CO2 cylinder, stow that as high as possible too.
