Richard,
If you enter the altitude correction table for 0° 5.3'10° (Table A3) on the second page of the Nautical Almanac you will see that the look-up for 1° 41.1' upper limb Oct-Mar will be -35.8' (not the -35.1 listed in the working notes. I just missed by a row.) so it appears that I pulled the wrong value from the table . Ho should be 1° 5.3'. Good pick-up.
