If a telescope is x4 then a digital camera will give a good enough image for pixel counting to get a distance up to about 6°. See attached image of Moon Venus which shows a pixel count of 3344 between the bodies. At .0982' moa per pixel calibration for the 200mm lens used a lunar distance of 5° 28.4' is calculated.
Try entering the lunar distance into Frank's calculator using:
UT 03:01:40 4/18/2018 Lat 34° 10.4' N Lon 119° 13.8' W 60° F 30.00 in Height of Eye 7ft. Near Limb Moon Venus distance 5° 28.4'
