Wow, nice pieces! Thanks for sharing these documents. Meanwhile, I will manage to grab a AP1234 manual and have a closer look at it.
When I bougt my Mark-IX units (one with the automatic averager and the other one with a 6 shots manual averager) I discovered in the handle of the automatic unit 2 genuine Eveready C type batteries . One with the expiration date of "may 1944" and the other for "june 1945". I guess my sextant might have floan over germany during WWII. I can provide pictures though I doubt it will be relevant to NavList members.
