Coincidentally, I'm refurbishing a Navy Mark 2 for a family member. Attached is a photo of the vernier and the index arm showing the manufacturer and date for this Mark 2 variant.
I'd like to mention how valuable Bill Morris's book has been for this refurbishing work (my first). He details some quirks of the Mark 2's construction and adjustment---very helpful to avoid confusion. Also, I have a partial SNO-T I've been fooling around with, and Bill also has a booklet on that model specifically. It's the booklet that "should have come with the sextant", as they say. Thanks Bill!My aim with the SNO-T is to make the missing parts. I have the frame and index arm. All that's missing is the the tangent-screw assembly, the index-mirror cell, the horizon-mirror cell, the telescope rising piece, the telescope, and the shades. No problem!
Cheers,
Peter
