Thanks for your reply. Your solution is very clever. How did you proceed to draw such nice looking curves ?
There is one [different] method published by Jean Meeus in Astronomical Algorithms (my own copy still stored somewhere and out of immediate reach) which should make it possible to start from the hourly data published in the Nautical Almanac through actually computing their 1st derivatives if I remember correctly. Any taker here ?
I will soon publish own results, meanwhile leaving sufficient time to other interested reader to publish theirs.
