Hello everyone,
Next month I am planing to do lots of sun sights using mirror artificial horizon therefore I have a question concerning safety issues. Is it safe for an eye to take sun sights via the first surface mirror (FSM) artificial horizon? The index and horizon shades of the sextant are of course ON but is it enough to fully protect your eye? Intensity coming to an eye is twice that of the normal sun sight with the natural horizon.
