We went out for a cycle ride yesterday from Kelling Heath (N52.92950 E001.14121) in Norfolk hoping to finish up in Wells (N52.95147 E000.85412) and possibly find the grave of John Fryer, Master of HMAV Bounty. We didn’t quite make it but found ourselves instead in the small village of Langham where we decided to visit the church (N52.95147 E000.985572). Attracted by a plaque showing signal flags, imagine our surprise when we found we’d stumbled upon the last resting place of Captain Frederick Marryat, 1792 – 1848, Naval Officer and author of Mr Midshipman Easy amongst other books https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick_Marryat . I took the photos below with the thought that they might be of interest or use to readers. I dunno where the definition went; still up in ‘the clouds’ I expect. DaveP
