"Still time to sign up for my "Modern Celestial Navigation" this weekend (Mar. 24-25) at Mystic Seaport. If all you know is the catechism of traditional celestial... the intercept method, assumed positions, H.O. this or that, then you don't know modern celestial navigation. And what you do know is buried under layers and layers of needless jargon and irrelevant detail. This is a complete calculator-based introduction, and yes, you can learn celestial navigation in one weekend. Naturally you won't be good at it without practice, but you can learn everything you need in a weekend!

Here's a little bait for more seasoned navigation enthusiasts. For those of you who sign up and join us for this workshop this weekend, I'm willing to add on a special hour of lunars tutorial at the end of each day (4-5pm Sat and Sunday). This assumes you're already reasonably familiar with lunars and is especially intended for those of you who have already taken my standard lunars class. If you haven't joined the lunars class yet, that's offered again a month from now.
