I can recall as a young lad, a long time ago, being introduced to aircraft inspection procedures utilising a torch, a mirror and the Mk1 eyeball. Possibly still the most reliable method of locating defects despite all our modern technology, a wee bit of experience goes a long way as well as it does with most things.
