Yes - Vega it was.
I was thinking, as I watched, that if I were at sea I would take a sight nothwithstanding the low altitude, as the position line would cross nicely with the sun a couple of hours after sunrise.
It was one of those situations where the sight may not have been ideal, but with clouds gathering and a forecast which might mean no celestial for 48 hours, you take an insurance sight when you can get it, even if the weather changes and it turns out you don't need it.
