You have the updated model with the electronic averager. You need 24 volts to run the averager and the 24 volt bulbs for night sights. If you don't want to use the averager then you can replace the bulbs with lower voltage bulbs. No electricity is needed for daytime shots of the sun. Place it on table and shim it level with the bubble in the center of the field for the sun.
