Second attempt, had a problem posting the first one. Thanks for the memory update. Susan Howel is the lady whose name I couldn't quite remember. Seems that she was lost at sea, as I thought, though not during the Fastnet race. I have a copy of her text on navigation, amongst my small store of related publications.
