I agree with all you said but my point was that the Horzions site allows you to download a file of data that you can take with you.
When I go on vacation or camping I quite often do not have computer-internet access so I must take the data with me. I also keep several years of data with my sextant - just in case. Much more convient than a long term almanac. Think of the work required to get the information from the long term in Vol. 1 of H.O. 249.
Stars - just use sid time ( times 15 ) to get GHA aries and any list of star SHA . Sun - use Local apperent time - GMT to get EOT to get GHA sun ( again times 15 ) . Yes the form is somewhat incovient but it is FREE and 20 years of data require about 75K of memory in a text file. Print out as many sheets of paper you need for your trip plus some.
