    Nautical Almanac calculator methods

    I found a brief article written by Mike Pepperday some thirty years ago critiquing some of the methodology in tne Nautical Almanac's instructions for using a calculator for sight reduction. Any thoughts on these suggestions? Do they make sense today? Did they make sense back then? If you look at the "calculator" instructions in a recent Nautical Almanac, say within the past five years, are there any notable changes from thirty years ago? Is there anything that you would change today, either on theoretical or practical grounds?
