The German Navy used the "Nautisches Jahrbuch" which was first published in 1850 by the Prussian trade ministry; it was an official publication from the start. There had been the "Berliner Astronomisches Jahrbuch" before but the "Nautisches Jahrbuch was better suited for the needs of seafarers as it was based on the Greenwich meridian even before it was decided upon as the Zero meridian several decades later. Note that even during both World Wars there was an exchange of astronomical data between the UK and Germany.
